CIAO RICHARD, A GREAT LOSS FOR US ALL

Today, Saturday August 17, we have received some very painful news from our director emeritus, David Robinson:

“I am extremely sad to have to tell you that our good friend Richard Williams died late last night. He was 86, but was still working energetically on his feature LYSISTRATA. (The first five minutes, PROLOGUE, was nominated for an Oscar in 2016.) In fact, though for two or three weeks he knew his illness was terminal, he had continued to work on his drawings, and also on a drawn and handscripted book of memoirs, until only days ago: even yesterday afternoon, some of the papers he needed for the Memoir were brought to him from his studio in Aardman studios, where he worked on one of the animation desks used by Disney for SNOW WHITE, 80 years ago. It is a great loss for us all.”
